MI Home Hub

Good Neighbor Grant

#GoodNeighborGrant

A community-funded grant program where neighbors, local pros, and businesses pool resources to help Mid-Michigan homeowners in need — starting with backup generators before winter. Powered by a partnership between MI Home Hub and ESCON Power Solutions, amplified by Midland Local.

Who Qualifies

Mid-Michigan homeowners facing real hardship — fixed income, elderly, or those with a medical need for reliable backup power. Recipients are selected quietly and respectfully.

What They Receive

A fully funded, professionally installed backup generator — or another home-critical project — at no cost to the family. Every install is done by a vetted MI Home Hub pro.

How It's Funded

Three community streams: online donations from neighbors, MI Home Hub pro sponsorships, and local-business Powering a Neighbor nights — all flowing into one transparent fund.

Local Business Program

Powering a Neighbor Nights

A local restaurant or shop picks an evening and donates a share of sales to the fund. MI Home Hub provides the promotion and the community buzz. Easy for the business, meaningful for the family.

No upcoming nights scheduled yet. Check back soon.

More ways to give

Beyond a direct donation, there are two other ways to move resources to neighbors in need.

Sponsor as a Pro

MI Home Hub pros can back the fund through annual sponsorships, earning recognition and a Good Neighbor badge on their profile.

This Fall

Each fall, the community follows one neighbor's journey.

A family in need. A nomination from someone who knows them. A quiet selection process. Then an install day — and a reveal that reminds the whole community what it means to be a neighbor.

Hubbie is the throughline. He shows up to every install, every reveal, and every story — because that's what you do for a neighbor. This winter, Hubbie's helping someone stay warm who couldn't otherwise afford to.

Recipient families are always kept private. Their story is shared only with their full blessing.
